Stop The Drop! – New safety campaign

From the final week of term we’re asking parents not to stop their vehicles and drop off or pick up from the entrance towards school.

As part of a new scheme to improve safety along Holland Road and Holland Street on the approach to school, the barrier at the end of the road will stay closed from 8:30am-3:30pm, with extra cones being placed on the roads edge to prevent cars from pulling in and using the space as a drop off point.

Headteacher Mrs Smith says the measures are necessary to ensure children can walk into and out of school safely and ease traffic issues at the crossing on Holland Road:

“Every decision we make is with the children in mind and the issue of their safety is always high on the agenda. Our colleagues at Broadleaf Partnership Trust have been investigating solutions for some time and have discussed this course of action with our neighbours. We have already implemented new cones immediately outside the school gates and new signage will be arriving soon.”
