The school can admit up to sixty children in any year group (except Nursery).

If a child is four years old on or before 31st. August, then he/she may start school in the September of the same year.

The allocation of places is made in accordance with the Local Education Authority’s (LEA) published criteria for admissions.

The criteria are as follow:

Looked after or previously looked after children.

Children with brothers or sisters already at school who will still be at Holland House or Town Junior school when they start school themselves.

Children who live nearest to the school by straight line measurement.

‘In Year’ Admissions

We have 60 places in each year group, Reception, Year One and Year Two. In year transfer forms are available to parents/carers either directly from your current school or from the Local Authority. They can be obtained by telephoning the Children, Young People and Families Children Information and Advice Service on 0121 303 1888 or from the School Admissions and Pupil Placements website:

Parent/carers should complete the ‘Application for a Change of School (In Year)’ form and return it directly to their preferred school.

Offers of places in other than Reception September start, are made to children on the waiting list as places become available and in the order of distance from school according to the criteria above.

The arrangements for children who transfer from another school to Holland House are as follows:

Parents and child(ren) have an opportunity to view the school at work by making an appointment with the Head Teacher.

Once the decision to transfer to Holland House has been made, a start date for the child(ren) will be established. Details of the previous school will be taken so that records can be passed on.

To assist with a child’s transfer, a small group of children in the same year group will be nominated to help them in their new school.

Parent/carers should complete the ‘Application for a Change of School (In Year)’ form and return it directly to their preferred school.
